I joined here for support, it may be a stupid question and I'm no further ahead. Whats the point of a specific support forum and getting no help?

Hello there,

You'll need the Raveneye Transmitter if you want to use the full functions through the Dji Ronin App with the RS3.
Ofcourse you can use different apps if it supports your camera. for example: Sony has Image Edge Mobile.
This way you can use your phone as a monitor or control some settings through your smartphone.
But you won't be able to use other things like the active track though. Only works with Dji Ronin App and Raveneye Transmitter attached.
Still I would recommend using the Raveneye Transmitter with the Dji Ronin App.

Sure, it is easy to monitor phone on Android by using monitoring app.
