I  just purchased the mini 3 and have the current firmware on the RC mini 3. App crashed at some point every time I fly. If I fly for longer it will do it several times. It is very easy to get back into the program but this oculd be probematic if it happens in a tricky situation.
01.01.300  (.300 is the newest version) other numbers might not be right as I am trying to  recall from memory.

I'd try to refresh the firmware on the RC by using the DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drone Series).  That  may be all that is required to resolve your issue.
