Yeah many country does not allow these shots, but it's still possible in Korea yet!
Hope you can come to Korea someday! I'll arrange if you ask

I'm sure the safety features help but still takes some skills and experience behind the controller.

of course, but the custom FPV users are quite afraid of no control situation and FPV might just fall...

There's an altitude limit of 150m, and also mostly not able to fly drones in Seoul. But you can use an website to unlock an authorized zone, droneonestop.co.kr. You need to watch 6 videos for 6 hours to fly drones over 250g and under 2kg.
