Was at Stratford Upon Avon today.

Noticed when i was hovering i suddenly attracted loads of horseflies.  They were climbing and descending with me.  Anyone else attracted insects?

I must gave chopped one up and brought it home with me

Horseflies are the worst! Thier bite is extremely painful and once they find you, getting rid of them is really hard. For example, I was hiking with a friend through some summer meadows when they got us. We were heading toward a glacier and thought they would leave us alone when we got on the glacier. WRONG! They followed us for 2 miles on the glacier, biting and stinging all the way. Horseflies are the devils own insect.

That does happen.  Once on a return flight with the Mini 2 I must have flown through a swarm of bees as I had several bee parts on the drone skin upon it's return.  Weird as they didn't show up on display while flying.

Props probably acted like a blender, off camera.

Could well have been.  At least there was no damage to the props but sure did damage to the bees.

No argument here.  Fortunately, rarely, if ever see horseflies here.

Hopefully, the couple of bees I accidentally cut up will not upset the balance of nature.

There is a bee apiary a few miles down the coast line from me so I might owe him a couple of bees.

actually it's a little worse then that.  not only do they not disperse when you swat at them to go away but also you can run, and i mean bolt, and they can follow you at top speed.  as soon as you stop, they're there instantly again.  it's downright crazy!

Yes, my parents' generation referred to them as Cleggs.
But that was a long time ago

Maybe they were angry that you sliced up one of their brothers.

I know that crows will remember individual people and will sometimes carry a grudge against them for a long time (crows are smart, and potentially more dangerous that horseflies).

Hello there chillibadger.  Thank you for reaching out and for giving out these information. I have heard few cases when drones got attacked by insects like bees. Just a reminder that it is not recommended to fly your DJI drone near them because it may damage and affect the performance of your DJI drone and may lead to accident. In addition, insects ( Horseflies ) are part of our environment and I'm sure they're not familiar to drones that is why they react aggressively when they notice it. Thank you and fly safe always.
