Just my opinion, but a smart business move. ALL currently sold controllers AND currently sold consumer drones SHOULD be compatible. If it uses the Fly app, it should be across the board!

In addition the DJI RC ( https://www.dji.com/rc?site=brandsite&from=nav ) is compatible with DJI Mavic 3, DJI Mavic 3 Cine, and DJI Mini 3 Pro. ahh you meant simple RC, not RC Pro, so i agree and would Aid Air 2 S too to this list

This is desperately needed, I was shocked that the new RC controller wasn't compatible with the Mini 2, my cash is waiting.

They're based on a different version of the OccySync protocol (02 the Mini 2 and O3 the RC). I suspect that they'll never satisfy this request.

That's true, but also the Smart Controller which comes with the Mini 2 (and also with the Mini 3 Pro in a different combo) supports both protocols.

This is giving me hope that it is going to happen at some point.

this would only work with a hardware swap

I would like mini 2 compatability also

It must now be possible as the new mini 3 uses the DJI RC and that is on O2

A new firmware update has been released on 9 Dec 2022. The release notes mention added support for only DJI Mini 3.

Its all about the marketing and sales..... its doubtful they will release any update to allow the Mini 2 to be compatible with the new RC as they want your $$$ on a new Mini 3/Mini 3 Pro

But the more drones they make compatible with the DJI RC the more sales of the Rc alone happen

Agreed. And it would not preclude purchases of the newer drones. I have a Mini 2 and I am thinking about a Mavic 3 Classic now. It would be great if I could fly both with the same controller (DJI RC). I might eventually upgrade the Mini 2 to the Mini 3 but so far, I am more inclined in getting a Mavic 3.

Air 2s is still a good option and works with the Rc and is also a good price

The Mini 2 is being removed from the official DJI store. In some countries it's no more available. I suspect they'll stop producing it and that only the warehouse's stocks will be sold. Under these conditions, I doubt they'll add new features to the Mini 2, including the DJI RC support.
