I just set up my mini 3 Pro with my RC-N1 Controller
I checked the transmission to verify if I am in FCC Mode
See picture below..............I am confused.  I know I am in FCC mode with my air 2S but am I in FCC mode with the mini 3 pro ?

From the pictures below …..am I in FCC mode ?
The first picture from my (mini 3 pro) shows the lines above the -90 and -100 dBm/MHz along with the 1KM and 4Km symbols. The second picture from my (Air 2S) shows the lines aligned with the -90 and -100 dBm/MHz with the 1Km and 4Km symbols above the lines.

Are both in FCC Mode ?

Any thoughts would be appreciated

RC-N1 with android phone-> CE.
RC-N1 with iphone -> FCC.

DId you do this inside? perhaps the GPS hasn't been picked up yet on the CE mode showing device?

Yes I tried outside, upon initial start up the line (1Km) is aligned with -90 dBm/MHz then upon home point being acquired it moves above -90dBm/MHz as you will see in the first picture.  This leads me to think it is in FCC mode ?

First pic is FCC mode.   You are using iphone, the 1km line is above -90dbm/MHz so you are in FCC mode.

Some confusion …. But I have been told that :

90 dB line paired with 1 Km = CE
90 dB line paired between 1 -4 km = FCC

FCC has 3 dB (5.8 GHz band) - 6 dB (2,4 GHz band) more power than CE

It seems to me that applying the FCC hack to DJI drones is a bit of waste of time, many people are concerned whether the hack has successfully downloaded or not when all they have to do is take it out on a flight.

If it makes any considerable difference it will be noticeable immediately.

I have paid 40 Euros for a hack , according to the transmission graph it is successfully downloaded but I have yet to see any difference.

As it was windy I tried a reverse approach and walked away with the RC behind some buildings and recorded when it lost signal, back on CE mode using exactly the same method and the signal was lost in exactly the same place.

More trials to come in open areas.

Yeah, not quite how radio signals work lol and FCC mode is free, i also fell foul of the 40 Euros malarky only to find it free elsewhere...

I can assure you the FCC mode over CE mode without obstacles makes the world of difference when testing on the Mini 2.
With the Mini 3 Pro, sadly i cannot test this as the Mini 3 Pro standard battery will take the drone to its limit in CE mode, therefore I've not even bothered testing FCC mode as the result will be the same until i can provide more battery power :/

I have now experimented with the FCC mode in open areas with the Air 2s and I agree the range is much better having to return to home at 3000mtrs due to windy conditions against running out of signal at 2000mtrs on CE mode.
However the intention was to hopefully have better transmission when obscured by trees.
Trials will continue and I perhaps should desist from hijacking this thread.

i am planning to buy a mavic 3 pro from usa .When i move back to european zone  i,does it turn to Ce from fcc mode.

Its based on your location. Not based on where you buy the drone. The drones have gps so it knows where you are when flying and will switch to CE or FCC depending on your location when flying.

Just make sure you know all about how the warranty and DJI's "care refresh" program works.

Does anyone know where do I download the free FCC apk?
