It is showing the other channels but won't use them. Still fixed to 13-20.Tested on iOS.

You have to change setting from auto to custom.

I think the Phantom3 can be castrated and slowed down pretty easy from DJI. Phantom2s with 5000mw boosters are more of a problem since DJI can not control those things. Phantom3 record every flight etc..

Yeah i am not stupid to even use that file at all as there is no way to ID from the phantom, any suggestions  on how to ID using our allotted freq ?

Never mind - I figured it out. . .

Updated 8/6/2015 - see changes in bold type for additional clarity:

- Before beginning, make certain all apps, including DJI GO app, have been closed out (are not currently running) on your iOS device.
- Before beginning transfer process, download the .DJI.Configs file and unzip its contents to a directory on your PC.
- Connect your iOS device to PC with an Apple-certified USB-lightning cable.
- Wait for iTunes program to load on PC and for Backup of your iOS device in iTunes to complete.
- Click on the iOS device icon near the top left of the iTunes screen to display all current device content including installed apps.
- Make certain iPad screen is turned on and you have entered your device password/TouchID (this enables file transfer from PC to iPad).
- Click on "Apps" below "Summary" on left side of iTunes Screen.
- Scroll down list of Apps on right side of iTunes screen to find a Separate list of "File Sharing" Apps
- Now, scroll down this list of File Sharing apps to find the DJI GO app and select it with a left mouse click; this will display a list of files for this app in the window to the right. This window title should read "DJI GO Documents."
- Now scroll to the very bottom of the list of all File Sharing Apps currently installed on your iOS device.
- Click on "Add File".  This will bring up a file Explorer on your PC. Go to the file directory where you placed the unzipped .DJI.Configs file on your PC. Left click on the .DJI.configs file. Click "Open."
- You will likely get message that there is a newer version of file already on the iPad; that's OK, go ahead an permit it to be overwritten.
- File will be transferred to the DJI GO Documents folder on your iPad.  However, it appears to be a hidden file and the .DJI.Configs file name did not appear on my list of DJI GO Documents BEFORE or AFTER the file transfer.  But the file DID transfer to the iPad using the above procedure.
- Use the "Eject" icon in the iTunes menu bar to safely disconnect the iPad from iTunes and the PC.
- Start the DJI GO app; Open Camera Screen, open Menus, click on "HD" menu and you should now see a scrolling noise level graph showing current signal activity on Channels 1-32.  
- Note: The bar chart will continuously scan all 32 channels and vertical bars in three different colors will pop up momentarily on the screen every time a transmission signal is detected for a given channel.  The jagged white line graph will reflect the average cummulative noise level activity on all these channels.  You want to choose a channel with the lowest noise signal activity (the lowest point on the jagged white line graph) and, preferably, a channel with low interference signal noise levels on either side of this same low-noise channel.
- To manually fix the channel selection for HD Link Video Transmission, change from "Auto" to "Custom" and select the lowest noise channel from the scrolling channel list below the noise level graph.
- To further inprove HD Link video signal stability, frame rate, and tranmission range, move the video transmission rate slider at the bottom of the HD menu screen to the lowest transmission rate of 4 Mbps.  This will slightly reduce the resolution of the live HD Link video, but it will improve its stability, frame rate and transmission range.

I STRONGLY recommend using the lowest-noise channel between approved Channels 13 through 20.  I typically use Channel 20 and will continue to do so.  Even after enabling all 32 channels, Channel 20 is still one of the lowest noise level channels in all the areas I typically fly.  And I choose to stay in compliance with all current regulations regarding transmission frequencies used by hobby aircraft.

YOU are responsible for what YOU choose to do in regard to use of Channels below Channel 13 and above Channel 20.

See my updated instructions in my post above.  Need to select DJI GO app under list of "File Sharing" apps in iTunes.  Sorry if earlier instructions were not clear on this point.

Cant seem to unzip file??

I just change the language of my Android Device from German/Germany to englisch/USA. Now i can use all 32 channels in Custom mode. Auto mode are still 8 channels.

Just tried it.  This .DJI.configs file does seem to unlock the channels.  Now I will confirm it actually switches frequencies using my spectrum analyzer.

You need a program to unzip RAR files. I used RAR Extractor Free on my Mac

Using a Wi-Spy Spectrum analyzer and Chanalyzer software I was able to confirm that the config file does actually allow the radios to be tuned outside the 13-20 range.  (Not just put more numbers on the screen.)

I would say that while this modification of the config does allow tuning the radios outside the stock frequency range... It does allow the user to tune to frequencies that are not considered legal under part 15 of the USA FCC regulations.  Not sure if it's OK to transmit on these frequencies as an amateur radio operator under Part 47.  But anyone doing so should use extreme caution.  (Otherwise... You may find your self in Jail for jamming a cellular carrier or other service.)

Does that mean that is the only channels it will receive from ?

in auto but you can manually choose the other channels.

That's probably the reason why European users can't select the custom button without changing land/region settings to USA.;)

This won't work for me.

After putting the file in the "files" folder and starting the DJI GO app on my tablet (Samsung Tab S 8,4), I can see 32 channels.
But when i turn on the drone and rc, they are gone.

Anyone know why?

I don't know your device...... Try Settings -> Location or so on....

I am a ham radio operator and the frequencies that DJI took away (in the USA) are on the ham radio band.  Just a FYI, ham radio operators love to use fox-hunting techniques to locate illegal interference. People hack their radios all the time to operate on illegal bands.   I don't think that DJI really cares about this so I doubt they will be motivated to take away the hack but it is illegal to operate on ham radio frequencies unless you have a license.  

I'm not personally invested in finding unauthorized users but my opinion is that it's best to stay off of unauthorized frequencies unless you accept the risk of getting a fine and getting your equipment (radio transmitter) taken away by the FCC.

Tell me if you can make it out... because I can't.. the only way to change region that I know is chanching the CSC information with a rooted device :/
Got it!! Go to Settings -> General -> System -> Language and input -> Change language to English (United States)

Hi, has anyone tested this on android device?

Not work for me on Android Samsung Galaxy and Nvidia Shield.
Copy hack config to Android/data/djipilot/files  and open the app  itself I'll see 32 channels. Not try to use , but seenig. But if I Power up the aircraft  just in that moment Go begins viewing only 13-20 ch.  Swith Aircraft Off- again 32 ch?
What's this , can anibody explain.Thanks

Just incase someone asks, no the DJI Go app update does not remove the channel mod..
