I have a mini 1 currently, the Mini 3 is out of reach so looking at the mini 2.

I know the Mini 1 has worse signal issues because of the WiFi and the Mini 2 has Octosync 2 which improves signal, but does it still need antennas pointing directly at drone, in a certain way etc, and have to be line of site?

It’s just I lose signal quick on my mini 1 no matter what I do, pointing towards it etc. I was hoping the mini 2 with its Octosync 2 would much improve this even if it’s not directly pointing at it etc.

Another thing, I know the video is better 2.7k vs 4K, but what about still pictures as I like to take a lot of those. I know it’s same 12MP which is disappointing, so are the Mini 1 and 2 still pics the same quality?

Thanks

Hello there MM_fly. Good day and thank you for reaching out. The advantage of OcuSync 2.0 compared  to WiFi is that the OcuSync 2.0 supports both 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz frequency bands. It features stronger interference resistance due to automatic frequency switching, delivering video transmission feeds at up to 10 km ( hen unobstructed, free of interference, and FCC-compliant ). Thank you.

Hi

In CE works it’s restricted to 6KM but that’s in ideal laboratory conditions, never happens in real world. Even half would be great, and more than enough.

However I also want to know about it in general use, as in my points above.

Thanks

While the Mini 2 is a bit more forgiving, technically the best signal strength is obtained when the controller is pointed towards the drone.

It must be better, had to be as better tech. What about still pics? Better on Mini 2 or the same  as the 1

DJI Stephen, perhaps you should reword that reply.

The following is taken from the manual of the Mavic Mini.
