Dead Indian Pass is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.465m (8,087ft) above the sea level, located in in northern Park County, in the U.S. state of Wyoming. Located in the Absaroka Range, the road to the summit is totally paved. It’s called Wyoming Highway 296 (WYO 296) also known as the Chief Joseph Scenic Byway and Dead Indian Hill Road. The pass is associated with the flight of the Nez Perce Indians during the Nez Perce War in 1877. The summit offers stunning views. You’ll see miles and miles over mountains and down into the valley. The road to the summit is 73.86km (45.9 miles) long, running from WY-120 to US-212 (Beartooth Highway). It’s open year-round, but keep an eye on weather because snowstorms can temporarily close it, or at least make the drive risky. Hello there dronie1965. Good day and thank you for posting this wonderful aerial video that you have filmed. Great work and keep flying. .
Beautiful! The only thing that might have added to it, is the lingering sounds, past the Music end, of a river stream mixed in that last shot.
I think of all the times I’ve driven similar highways and roads in the Pacific Northwest and many other parts of this great country, but without my newly purchased Mini 3. I have a lot of catching up to do,
