Sounds good, but at least you have the new one available when needed and nobody else can get it.

Interesting.  Thanks for the link DA.  It sure collects lots of various personal data and shares quite a bit with 3rd parties. Rated 3.3 so might need some tweaking.

Curious on IOS it does collect anything more than an email address and password,  everything else is optional.

Seems on iOS it is much better constrained on permissions then.

Seems the Apple App store is more stringent on rules,  although I hear that google are now stopping some new social media apps coming in.

About time Google got more serious about the Apps they allow on the store.  You keep seeing articles on many new Apps on Google Play store that contain malware.  Don't remember ever seeing an article about that in the Apple App store.

Its rare to hear that,  I know having submitted apps to the App Store getting through the initial process took some doing.

I think thats wy google is getting better as over the years Apple has done a lot of advertising around the security issues and now that these devices are really phones last for some people and daily computers for banking and shopping etc first its got far more important to people

You're absolutely right.    As long as the Apple iOS remains proprietary they will always have a leg up on Android.  I like that Android is open source but that also opens the door to questionable developers.

I think google is moving in that direction with how they are locking down use of the google apps and approved devices -
