Oooh that's a good idea.  It might be possible.  They already use the USB-C port to communicate with charger for power requirements.  Maybe they have the ability to read more info??

Won't hold my breath though.

I dont have the fly more kit yet still trying to find it on stock so i cant test it.

Not sure if there's an easier way, but that is what I do; check for a FW update with each of my batteries inserted.

What you describe is the normal procedure. But the problem, in this case, is that changing the battery and checking for the presence of a new fw leads to the server error indicated above. Making it impossible to upgrade batteries.

I haven't tried the update yet, and I have the fly more kit.  Hoping later today to get a chance and try.

So I just finished updating my mini 3.  So connecting the fly more kit to DJI Assistant 2 does nothing, at least for now; you can't do it this way if batteries need updating.

As for the update itself, I did it over wifi, and it went without a hitch.  It did take a while, and no messages for updating each battery.

I'm guessing because I waited a few days, their servers were not as overwhelmed.

I am from Hong Kong and able to update latest version on both rc-n1, mini 3 pro & fly app on Huawei mate 10 mobile (no prompt for battery update). However,  fly app only shows 2.4ghz, no 5.8ghz option, which had both options before. Any idea on steps or settings to fix this?

Updated. So far, so good.

My RC-N1, connected to my mini 2 is still version 04.11.0200

I need Version  V04.14.0400 to use it with my mini 3 pro.

How can I upgrade the RC?
It does NOT update automatically, neither trough the App neither trough Assistant v2.

Unable to update my Mini 3 Pro and Mavic 3 Classic to the latest firmware. Getting the same server errors that others occasionally see. None of the workarounds work (update through Profile, DJI Assistant 2, different WIFI connections, etc).
EDIT: Finally some success. It took multiple attempts in DJI Assistant 2 to get around download errors and missing files in the list of firmware updates presented by the app (lots of retry errors), but eventually got there.

Currently have 01.00.0600 installed, what has been changed/improved now

On the english DJI website I can't find any new release notes about this

Still don't know what issues have been fixed though ?

DJI doesn't usually state what has been fixed, it's DJI policy.

Is this update a lure to limit the climb height of the m3p to 120 meters?

From Philip Bloom on his Mini 4 review:

EU HEIGHT RESTRICTION
In April 2024 in the EU any drone under 250g needs to be labelled C-0 and is banned from going over 120m for anything. DJI has decided to do this early for the Mini 4 Pro.
From April 2024 every new Mini 3 Pro will also have this restriction, and they will also bring out firmware for current Mini 3 Pros to add this restriction ALTHOUGH you do not have to update your drone. It's optional; you just won't be able to get any new features if they add any.
So be very careful, at some point there will be a Mini 3 Pro firmware update to permanently cap the drone to 120m and currently there is no roll back.

The Mini 3 Pro is feature complete with no real bugs - do you really NEED to install the latest firmware update with a vague changelog knowing at some point this is happening?

DJI needs to stop renaming old posts.
Please clearly publish new firmware updates on new posts…

I'm the one that's liable if I break the law, there's no need for DJI to handhold me, especially not if they don't consider stuff like this. A warning is fine, a hard cap is stupid

If you want to fly a C0 labeled drone you are limited to 120m from take off point as per the EU regulations.  not DJIs fault they are just following the laws and requirements.

These EU regulations (restrictions) in many cases are often pure paranoia. Unelected officials interfere with every aspect of privacy and freedom. Where is this going? You might as well ban the sale of knives in the EU, because you can kill someone with a knife...

It doesn't effect the UK and DJI just back tracked the 120m limit in the Eu too.

yes, but what if they have a "timed" activation, where 120m hard limit auto-activates after 2024-01-01 or 2024-04-01.

Can anyone try to change their phone or RC clock to be 2025 and see what happens?

I think that may be the intention, since you can't roll back from this version.

Exactly. If they enabled the 120m limit immediately after update, then all of the internet (forums, youtubers, etc.) would warn all the others not to update

But now, with "timed" or in some other way remotely activated hard limit that could be introduced with this update, more people are likely to download the update.

I really wish the company had a reputation of being open and honest about what's being updated with firmware updates, and allow each user to decide

All of my batteries took a firmware update after installing v01.00.0700.
This may have addressed cross-compatibility of batteries between Mini 3 Pro and Mini 4 Pro, as the FW was released around the same time as Mini4P?

Funny thing is, that they were able to revert the limit on this update without having to issue another update.  Which leads me to believe that it is done server side, and not by updates.  They may also be able to enforce a limit without you even updating your firmware.
