Hi,

after a few baths in the sea, my brand new Action 2 started to get rusty. see attached pictures.
After every use i cleaned it removing any salty water but still this occurred.
the camera works correctly but also the connectors are affected and it starts not to charge up properly when connected.
what shall i do?

The device is sold to live well after a couple of salty baths. honestly I’m quite surprised about the level of corrosion after just a few days.

Will the warranty cover this?

I grew up near the sea, what I can share about this is that, I think it's kind a chemical reaction between the copper part of the charging port, or since it is the part to where the charge is coming in, isn't it emitting electrical discharge and reacted with salty water? I think it make sense that  this happened. As for me, I have a new Action 2, so I'll just wait for the underwater case before I bring it to the sea

Hi, I am sorry for the situation. This scenario may not be covered under the standard warranty. You may also try to clean the Action 2 with WD-40, if it is still the same, we may still suggest that you send it in.

Sadly you will have to pay for a replacement.
