Couple things to note:     You do not want to fly the Mini 3 in the Rain without a Wet Suit as it wont last 3 minues in the Rain before the Sensors Burn out .
You will not be able to restart your drone .    This means there wont be any Miracle Submersion stories flooding the forums as this drone does not like the rain..

However once your geared up with a phantomrain wet suit  , you do have some power to Negotiate the Rain.

This Particular Wet Suit uses what we designed and called Surge Tabs , there not meant to be used during normal flight , however when not used they are applied to the under side of the drone so you have them on the drone ready to engage at all times,   They simply snap into place behind the gimbal to form a pocket and protect the Power Button and the Redirect the air flow .

If you want to capture a Storm or get caught in a down pour this is a good way of negotiating the rain.
As noted without the Wet Suit you wont last but a few minutes before the Sensors will burn out .

Does that not severely reduce air time as without airflow it would overheat in a few minutes?

The wet Suits for the Mini 3 still allow some Air Flow , so because of this no issues with loss of Air time.

I would avoid flying with all the Tabs secured in 85 Degree weather or more if flying in the Rain.

If your going up in the Rain, than you secure the Submerge tabs into place.

If you think it might rain, than you secure the Rain Guard Tabs in place which will allow you to land safely as you make your way back.

This system offer two variable that can be used very effectively to Negotiate the Rain. .

You still have the VIN number of the car, if so, then law enforcement agencies can easily track the car as soon as it is seen at some service station or buying some spare parts. You can make a vin history report yourself using https://epicvin.com/vin-decoder/acura
or any other alternative.

Tracking for what car and why ?
