Hello, I have bought a mini 3 pro with the 2 year dji refresh plan on the official website. I just wonder if i lose the drone in any way and wouldnt be able to recover it(bird strikes or accidents over water), can i still get a replacement?

For clarity, did you buy the care refresh or is this a second hand drone that came with a care refresh?

It's a brand new drone with refresh purchased with it from dji store

If you cannot recover the drone then yes you can claim under the fly away cover of the care refresh but the excess payment is much higher.

Do read up on DJI refresh on what is covered and what is not covered.

There are things you need to be aware like the drone has to be bound to your DJI account and the remote controller bound to your drone etc.   Otherwise, you would have trouble making the claim.   And it does not cover lost or stolen drone.

there's only difference is care refresh is non-transferable.  can a second hand drone really come with care refresh?  apparently the original owner will have to execute it for you.  ;)

agreed, care refresh is tied to a particular drone.  i think you just need to give the new owner of the drone the name, phone number, and email on the contract.  dji says care refresh is not transferable but that probably means it isn't necessary to change the name/phone number/email on the contract to keep it effective.  ive never made a claim but whenever i sell the drone, i always let the buyer know it's gtg.  just leave it the way it is and dji will make it work.

Don't think is bad, i also did 2 year care refresh, so worst case in 2 years you can get replacement 3 times (cost is 75-79-89 euro if in EU) with flyaway is 255 euro (usable twice).
Very similar to apple care plus as concept.
