Not sure if it is a god or bad thing

Is it likely they'll bother certifying older models, would you think?  Possibly not. Legacy status for those would/will help.

Even if they went back and did things like the Mavic 2 its still over 900g so it would drop into a crap category anyway.

Yeah, the M2Zoom is 905gm take-off weight.
Now where can I shave off 6gm

How much do the landing legs weigh, do you think?
Can you hand launch and catch the Mavic 2 ?

I have a few times yes.    I had launched yesterday at the beech but landed on the sand in the end.

Clean your SD card and charge your batteries only to 50%.
Remove any stickers or Skin Wrap, ND filters and cut some additional air vents into the plastic body.

It seems UK and EU rules are nearly identical, right?

Its not really a backwards certification, dji said all along in many articles here and other places that there was going to be certifications for drones Like Air2 Air2s Mavic 3 nothing before these and although the forums were full of naysayers on this subject once again it looks like conspiracies were just that “conspiracies “

The reason for the rumors and conspiracies is you can't belive anything dji says.

I think its a bad idea, well, doing it this year, now that DJI have started, this could seriously mess with the CAA's proposal, they may change their minds and only give one extra transitional year seen as it was based on no C drones available at the time of the consult, i was really hoping that the extension would have been in place before DJI started

https://camerajabber.com/what-ar ... -uk-europe-and-usa/

The EASA rules are similar to the UK CAA rules although some member countries still deviate from those, like banning night flight in NL.

However CAP1789B from the CAA states a UK Marking implying that we need to have our own test bodies,  but time will tell what happens.   Im sure Ian in London has already emailed the CAA for clarification.

I think this was a clear problem with the authorities EASA CAA who just were not ready in time. Manufacturers can’t be asked to hold up design or production waiting for these bodies to sort themselves out. But dji had said all along they were in contact with these bodies to make sure their new drones would comply with the rules set out.

Not true , but certain countries are rampant with false conspiracies, this is totally abnormal to the rest of the world , but spreading…

Yes, this is what the CAA said, something like they are outdated now and they are going to look at it all as a whole, so there is a chance that it could make things worse, i.e changing the 249g to something less desirable for us, only time will tell.
