Here is another useless support chat,... bear in mind that I sent links to ongoing support threads that clearly describe the issues many of us are having but this support guy tried to end with I should simply click on the button inside the app to fix the problem.. Oh yeah! just simply toggle between MANUAL and AUTOMATIC for 2.4 or 5.6 Ghz transmission...   WELL THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HAS CAUSED EVERYONE TO HAVE BRICKED DRONES THAT DON'T WORK ANYMORE!!! WE TRIED SIMPLE CLICK ON MANUAL AND GO BACK TO AUTO BUT IT WILL NEVER GO BACK TO AUTOMATIC AND WE NEED DJI TO FIX THIS PROBLEM!!!!!   O M  F G !!!!! HOW MANY MORONS HAVE THEY ACTUALLY HIRED AT DJI TO WORK IN THEIR SUPPORT STAFF???

SERIOUSLY THIS LIVE SUPPORT CHAT WAS A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME!!!! Look at below at how it went down today ...

Hello everyone! I have the same exact problem of the initial post.. I used DJI Fly App on my iPhone 12, switched to manual and now I can't connect anymore my Mini SE (bought the fly more combo in august 2022) even with another iPhone where I never installed the app before.. what could I do? I Appreciate any kind of help, please! Thanks  (I wish I read this article title before)

Everyone has been saying the exact same things to you and you have never once offered any useful assistance to fix our Personal Property!

THIS IS NOT A CUSTOMER PROBLEM... IT IS A CUSTOMER SERVICE PROBLEM!

The only thing that DJI support has been able to provide thus far is mass quantities of anger and frustration!

Stop wasting everyone's time and do what is right! Take care of your customers for a change and stop treating them like dirt!

So i also bought my new mini se i flew it a few times and also was getting connection issues so i switched to manual i libe in south Asia and my drone was bought from walmart in new jersey , this is really outrageous i used my savings for this drone since i dont have a job and i was so excited ,i could also bring my drone to 6 or 7 trips ,now i am sending it back to the us tomorrow pls tell me how i can get it replaced ,also there is no warning or information about switching to manual mode and this is a big problem with the sofware,i wouldn’t wanna pay lots of my money just to get a product fixed ,i would pay if it was my fault but how is it?pls reply . Asap

Ditto.  When I first purchased my drone I was really close to manually changing that setting and saw one of these threads and fortunately didn't.

After spending $300 as a brand new DJI customer, I would have been extremely angry, and my opinion of the company would have taken a steep nosedive.

I purchased a new DJI Mini SE, changed to manual mode yesterday and now I am in the same situation as many here. Mini SE will not pair to the controller, and the LED is flashing yellow rapidly. Contacted DJI support and they are starting the repair / return process. This is unbelievable. How has DJI not addressed this issue?!

Hi Everyone, newbie here. I found this thread that began about 5 months ago but I can tell you the problem still exists today, Jan 5 2023.  Had my mini SE about a week with everything working well.  I changed from 'Auto' to 'Manual' just to become familar with the software and how it works.   Drone continued to fly well but next day when I went to fly it again, it would not connect.   

I upgraded firmware in both controller and the mini SE.  Removed the memory card.  Fully charged the batteries.  Deleted and re-installed the DJI Fly app.   I tried a different phone.  Nothing worked.  When I click on 'Auto' it would flash momentarily but go right back to 'Manual.'

Hi Tony. It does show up on DJI Assistant but can't see the software version details or downgrade/refresh option. It only shows the option to backup the log, which I tried backing up but doesn't do anything after that.

I also connected the RC with my wife's Pixel 4XL. I can click on Auto transmission option but the drone doesn't connect. On the other hand, my iphone 7 plus doesn't allow me to click on Auto option. It's grayed out.

Just an FYI... Perhaps DJI can simply release an SDK for this drone if they have truly given up on fixing their software.

Or hey DJI, just send me the source code and I'll send you a bill for services rendered when I'm finished fixing the software !

Hey everyone! I just had the exact same problem on my air 2s. The app selected manual mode and would not let me select auto mode again and was basically stuck on manual mode rendering the drone useless.

FIX

I replaced the cable from the controller to the iPhone a USBC to Iphone cable that DJI supplied and all works just fine again.

Maybe this is why they can’t reproduce the problem??

I was about to ditch the drone in the trash, but a quick cable change and all fired up again as if nothing was ever wrong!!!

Same issue here i have a bricked drone i bought a while back. Barely ever flew it. And now it won't connect to any controller wont even go into pairing mode. Fucking paper weight on the shelf.. worse drone Dji has put out. And the customer service ant far behind the drone. Cause everyone knows the issue is with Dji firmware or software.

Hello All,
