Between the low density air and the cold batteries I bet the air time per battery was significantly reduced.

Only 10,000ft above its service ceiling - bet those motors were screaming...!

Yes,  they probably had to make that before the EU C1 firmware was installed limited its noise levels.  

Great find DA.    DJI did a marvelous job on this video.

I was musing to myself if they had some form of enterprise firmware on that drone to self heat the batteries like the M2E does.

Most likely equipped with high altitude props like the Inspire 2 had and some sort of firmware to avoid maxing out the motor speeds.

What I'm guessing is that they somehow paid to get the summit to themselves for this, as all I've ever seen in photos is a queue to get up there these days.

From what Ive read the queues depend on the weather,  if they get a long spell of good weather the queues disappear.   

I suspect it was actually a stock Mavic 3 as I just saw that national geographic flew the Mavic 2 from Everest as well.

They reached "only" 8,625 meters, lower than the top of Everest.
The Chinese team launched the Mavic 3 Pro from the summit, and flew it up to 9,232 meters!
