I have P4RTK and M300 RTK Zenmuse P1 camera.
With the P4RTK, it takes 669 photos at 150 m altitude, while the M300 with the P1 camera takes 670 photos at 230 meters.
The overlay rates are 80% 60% the same in the two projects.
What could be the problem?

@ 150m the P4RTK camera yields a 219 m x 139 m image @ 3.81 cm GSD

@ 230 m AGL the P1 yileds a 223 m x 149 m image @  2.72 cm GSD (w/ default lens)



Given those footprints and the same overlap specs, the P1 should result in roughly the same or perhaps slightly fewer images at 230 m AGL than the P4R does at 150 m AGL. And it does (670 vs. 669). But the GSD is better for the P1.

35 mm lens

I believe the image footprint I posted above was for the 35 mm lens ( the only P1 lens currently available)

I did the test this afternoon, for the same area 5.5ha, same flight direction, same overlap 80-60. Distance trigger shot.
P4RTK @150m AGL / 76 pictures / GSD 4.11cm/pixel
P1-35mm @230m  AGL / 72 pictures / GSD 2.89cm/pixel


Everything seems to be normal and in agreement with the data that Patiam provided.


Yes I believe that the P1 is only available with the 35mm lens, but it could be possible to order the other lenses separately.

Wonder why my GSD calculations are off... I used the camera model info from Pix4D. Oh well I was close at least.

From what I've heard, the 24 mm and 50 mm lenses are still vaporware. Folks have used the 24 mm model designed for the X7, but that's not recommended.

Ah yes I was going to mention the potential for additional oblique images on both platforms, but forgot. Not sure if the number and type of obliques are comparable or not.

which would add images to the P4R, but not to the P1. I think we've established there is no "problem" here...
