At first I thought these were cracks in the desert flour close to where I live but when you zoom in it’s actually some brush that grew making it look at first glance like a cracked desert floor or scales of a fish, to me anyway.

Very interesting shot Fred.    No doubt about initial appearance being that of very arid desert soil.

I'm reminded of the bark of an old pear-tree trunk, which cracks and splits in the same way.

This was taken about 30ft high with my Mavic 3 so pretty big I would assume.

Unfortunately, I'm recovering from getting speared in the thigh by a teenager who was not a member of our dive team.  Some unsavory shop rented him scuba gear and a spear gun and he was not trained or qualified in the use of either.  He told law enforcement he doesn't even know why he rented the spear gun as he just wanted to dive.  Something wrong about his statement I'm thinking.  Happened on Sunday, so I'm just recuperating and recovering now.  Got pumped full of antibiotics and some heavy pain meds while hospitalized overnight but off the pain meds now and back at home.  

Other than that just another day in paradise.

OMG!!! That’s terrible, I’m so sorry to hear about that. What were they even thinking letting some teenager rent scuba gear without a certification let alone a speargun! And that statement definitely sounds wrong to me as well, hopefully you can receive some compensation from both idiots. Anyway, I hope all goes well with you and I know that sooner than later you’ll be back on your feet.

Thanks Fred.  I'm thankful because he could have hit me in a more life threatening location and I wouldn't be around today.
