Just got my Avata this week.  Can't say I'm a big fan of the motion controller (yet) but since the current combos are only shipping with it and the FPV Controller II is out of stock - it's all I've got to work with for now.  I've had several DJI drones and am very used to flying with the traditional controller, this is my first FPV.  I have almost exclusively done manual takeoffs and landings and often due to terrain need to hand catch.  Any hints as how to best do this with the motion controller?  Is there a equivalent to doing a CSC with the sticks?
