Today is our last in France this holiday, tomorrow we drive back home.
But I did not want to leave before testing out some hyperlapses.

This morning I went on with it. The clouds and stuff were not particularly nice, but hey... it is a test to get familiar.
Took the village here as subject and tried out locked courses and circles.

Sometimes the bird seemed to loose the locked course when I pointed the camera to the village after the course was locked.
But managed to activate a couple of runs just the same.

The first circle (arc) had a flaw, I think the little champ was blown out of position at a certain point.
The next one was better.
The champ did get a lot of attention of swallows, though.
One of them glitched a frame in the footage, but for the rest it was pretty okay.

Another run was not possible for I had drained all 3 batteries by then.

But... works nicely too!

Very nice lapse.    Lapses, depending on your chosen settings, can eat up the battery rather quickly.  For this reason I bought the extended batteries.  Have a safe trip back home.

I would love to buy some plus batteries too.

But I just don’t trust Ali to deliver the correct one.

Nah, just 1 or maybe 2 at the very most, I've not got out with it as much as i'd like to , i have an aging, poorly dog so i don't like to live them too long, plus, at the times i would normally get out, i have been kayaking, i have taken it with me but dare not get out it whilst on the water, far too unstable lol

Maybe (if you have) you could add an ND filter to introduce some motion blur to smooth out the changes between frames a bit (it will get less jumpy)

High on the list to get, but could not find them on holiday.

Home now (we traveled yesterday) but I believe I have to wait till my birthday.
They are put on the giftlist

But I don’t mind it for hyper/timelapses, it is part of their charm.

Why use Ali?

Well… I may find a way if I put my back into it.
For now I have had sufficient flight time with the 3 normal batteries I have.

I was not really into ND filters for my DJI stuff, until I got a ND1000 for my Pocket 2.
There is nothing like that motion blur combined with a hyperlapse.
Not sure if you saw this one before, but here is what it looks like.

They  do look nice, your pocket lapses!

I am used to ND’s & pol’s.
Have a good set for the mini 2 and I use them a lot.
I am particularly fond of the polarization filters (combined with ND).
Always have been, also on my DSLR.

I am sure a decent set for the mini 3 is on it’s way

I've ordered lots of parts for DJI drones from Aliexpress.  Fraction of the cost of what DJI charges.  Only drawback is shipping time.  If I'm in a hurry I buy them from DroneNerds and get them the next day.

Yeah, I have 'regular' ND's as well, but this ND1000 opened up a world of daytime motion blur I never had.

Yeah, I just noticed that on the batteries.  Oh well, I have 5 extended batteries that will easily get me through a day of flying.  However, with the rainy and windy weather lately it has been really hard to even use up one battery.

Looks like you had a bit of wind too that could be causing some of the shakiness?

The birds though I feel your pain!  I did a hyperlapse near a river and there was a bird that kept trying to check out my drone I am standing there looking and I see the drone and the bird and I am like no stay away no no no no.  I aborted the hyperlapse just to be safe because I didn't want to hurt the bird or my drone if it got to close.  I know they don't know what it is so they go check it out, the same as us with drones we can go look at stuff and check it out.

There was indeed a lot of wind.
The mini did of cource an arc, so it was moving too...

Birds don't all react the same.
Swallow are normally just curious but birds of prey is different...
