Possibly the only USB-C cable that is easy to plug in...

Unfortunately, it is hardly possible to easily plug a USB-C cable into the new DJI Avata.
There is a great risk that the USB-C connector will cause damage or cause great wear and tear if used continuously...

But I have now found suitable cables that are really good to use...
As you can see (at least I hope so), the aluminum plug is so short that it doesn't collide with the propeller...
The flexible cable (nylon) is also very helpful as it puts little pressure on the propeller.

This makes (daily) data transfer (videos) quite easy.
I hope the pictures help many of you...

I'm not sure I see why this is better.

Is it because it has a longer, thicker end piece to grab?

OK, I can see that as being better.

I'll see how bad standard cables are when I get mine, but this could end up being a worthy addition to my semi-infinite pile of cables!

:-)

Thx,

I just used a 90 degree usb c adapter lol. Seems like a cheap and effective solution everyone could use.

I completely agree.
There are plenty of other surfaces where this port could be placed - this is just lazy engineering.

Fundamentally goes against all aircraft safety design standards - never allow regular maintenance tasks to introduce a catastrophic failure scenario.

All it takes it a missed clip when pushing the cover back in to place and you risk losing the drone in flight.

Tisk tisk, designers.

These are available pretty much any place you look.  "USB-C 90 degree adapter". Not too expensive either.

This looks like a winner to me.

Depending on how hard it actually is for me to use the conventional cable, I'll probably check this out fairly quickly.

Thx!

I suspect that a good pair of tweezers, with ESD-avoidance covers on the tips, can do the job. But I'll find out when I get it.

This is what I'm using.
It came with a different drone but I think it works really nice with the avata.

Are people still upset with this?  A little difficult at first but ultimately you figure it out and most cables will work (ie. you don't need a special cable).  I'm not plugging in too often these days, maybe only to update software.  I hope we can now understand that DJI was left with little options when it comes to location and they did the best they could with the time and trade-off, etc.  It isn't a "design flaw" or done to frustrated customers or because DJI isnt very smart.
