Finally came in today the Dji Rc and just in time for my trip to the river where I’ll be doing a lot of filming with it and my Mavic 3 and Mini 2 and OM5 and can I just say I really like this controller especially just how little this thing weights in comparison to the Rc Pro. An exceptional product from Dji!

That is a shame indeed. Although I doubt they will.

I think that DJI will eventually make it compatible with the Mini 2.  Seems like they are  moving away from the old guard smart controller so why not make it compatible with as many DJI drones as possible.  Would definitely increase sales of the RC.

That's true, but it's the 'lower end' of the range. TMBK they have not added support for those drones. (but I could be wrong)

Well shockingly the smart controller just prompted me for a DJI Fly app update so at least thats still being looked after.

That's interesting.  What version did it update to?

I have to admit I didnt install it,   I know its not like me at all but its the version for avata support and I didnt see the point.

I did upgrade my SC and took the M2P and all was well.

I see where DJI Fly App v1.7.4 is finally on the DJI download site.  Still says v1.7.0 but v1.7.4 downloads.  

Just with DJI would get the Fly App update on the RC.  East to update the RC Pro but with the RC we can't manual update the Fly App.

Most of the recent issues with the Mini 3 Pro have been with the late August release of Assistant 2 for Consume Drones software.  Seems DJI updated it to make it compatible with the DJI Avata but now many Mini 3 drones are having issues when they do a firmware update via Assistant 2 vice updating via the Fly App.  I think it was error code 30064 that they are reporting.  I saw where a couple of the Mods said that a firmware update was being worked on to fix that issue but that those having the issue could send their drone in for replacement if they couldn't wait for a firmware update.  

I always try to update via the Fly App first and I also haven't downloaded the latest Assistant 2 so I fortunately haven't had that error.

I must confess I stay away from Assistant 2,  just to my updates over wifi and so far so good.

I prefer to use the Fly App but a couple of times on the Mavic Air 2 I could only update via Assistant 2.  So far on Mini 3  and Air 2S Fly App has worked well for updating.
