Mini 3 12mp vs 48mp

Im deffinitly seeing more details in the 48mp images.

Heres an example with the fine details of a solar panel.

It’s a 130% crop on the 22mp and roughly the equivalent on the 48.

Roughly 130% in the left and the comparable on the right.

Very nice comparison.    Easy to see the difference using the solar panel as the focus.

It does have quite a bit of artifacts (especially in the lines).

I would expect that from this tiny camera,  and of course these are grater than 100% zoomed and then downscaled for the forum.

Yes that is true, the zoom won't help. But I find the regular jumps in the lines weird.

Im just pleased the quality is good enough to be excepted my the company I use to see my stock photography.

You do bring up a good point as I've seen many complaints about 48mp.  Maybe they have unrealistic expectations.

Well now that iPhone has 48mp camera will see how the reviewer may change their mind about them.

I saw on a tech site yesterday where the newest iPhone came out with a 48 mp camera.  Camera wise, mobile devices have come a super long way in the last 5 years.

They certainly caused a hoohar in the USA with the announcement of the SIM card being removed.

Yeah, seemed to catch a lot of users by surprise.  Since I buy only Samsung flagship phones I've been using the built in e-sims for years now.

I think it was needed a move,   the iPhone has support e-sim for a while but many networks are not implementing them,  my network just added e-sim support for Apple Watch although they are too expensive IMHO and still not for the phones,  so this puts the world on notice that they have a year to do it.

For sure it is time for the physical sim cards to be done away with.  

I'm at the same conclusion as you. I think some users think because it's not true 48M quality it's a "fake" or somehow inferior. My experience with 48MP files is they are better than 12MP (guessing I would say somewhere between 15-20MP equivalent). Cheers Bussty

They have been very slow with the Apple Watch support,  something they had been promising for years and they just kept moving the goal posts.
