Hello everyone!
Yesterday I did preparation to the drone flight, some simple maintanance as charging all batteries, updating firmware to the latest one and so on. I installed the latest August release on the Smart Controller through Pilot 2 app and later with USB cable updated the rest of devices. I resttarted RC several times. Everything was okay, worked as expected.

Then, after I had finished, I switched off the RC and put it to the box. About one hour later I decided to switch on th RC to do something - and that moment something unexpected has happend.

RC started to alram me with beeping and cyan light blinking. As it is stated in the manual, this means incorrect invalid sticks calibrations. I started to execute the calibration and here I interfered the second crucial unexpected issue - it was not possible to finish it. Please, see photos attached. Control sticks were fine, but dials responsible for gimbal movement - not. The left one showed full input to the right without me even touching it. If I rotated it to the most left position, then RC still showed very hard input to the right, but slightly less than when I had not touched it.

I tried to do calibration several times, made a full reset of RC, installed the firmware again through DJI Assistant app on the PC - nothing was changed. If I connect RC to the drone - there is a notification that I need to acomplish the calibration prior to flight (photo attached).

In the end, I plan to send it to DJI as soon as possible for repair. Seems it is a hardware problem. Btw., right dial works and calibrates perfectly.

full input to the left on the left dial

full input to the left on the left dial

no input on the left dial

no input on the left dial

That was is shown when connected to the drone

What was the outcome of this? - I have experienced the very same thing and also tried to reset the controller and install the latest firmware. I get completely no response from the control sticks and when I try to calibrate them it says they are pushed to the down-left position?

Just as a follow up to help anyone else experiencing this issue - I since posted the smart controller back to DJI Australia after contacting their support team. They replaced the control stick modules at $7 each plus a $60 service fee and express postage back to me. All up it came to $94 (AUD) plus our express post to them.

It's also worth noting that DJI Australia have some of the best customer service I've every experience. These guys are so quick and efficient and always happy to help. Rather than getting frustrated with any issue you can't fix, I would highly recommend just contacting their support guys and go from there!
