A 90-minute slog up the hill before sunup on Sunday morning brought me to this viewpoint to see the sunrise.
Extensive quarrying along the ridge has left impressive scars on the landscape.
Cracken may refer to the clefts in the rocky outcrop on which I am stood.

PS, did you also 'not' see a thumbnail in the preview?

Loved the POI at the intro to the video and the views throughout were magnificent.  Awesome job Mr. B.    

Yours is the 5th or 6th video I've seen this AM that doesn't have a thumbnail.  YT must be effing up.

It is a bit strange as it is not effecting all videos, but just some of them.

So every now and then you get a preview of a video with this ugly grey default image (right between normal thumbnails).

Yep well worth getting up for there Blériot. I was a bit concerned that you might disorient yourself and fall off the edge but you didn't. Oh well maybe next time

I was more concerned about dropping bits of equipment down the fissure in the rock.
Lovely views from up there, and the hike was bracing, to say the least.

I have a theory about it. If you don't acceptthe default thumbnail proposed by YT, but select another, that's when it seems to occur.
BUT - I do see the thumbnail when on the YT site direct.
