From what I can tell the dji avata seems pretty awsome I am considering getting it. But I am disaponined in the fact of the lack of obstical avoidance. I hope full opstical avoidance is made in the future. Though I know the drone seems to be built to be crashed it would be a nice feature on A dji drone.

"Full" obstacle avoidance will never be an option as there are only two downward-facing cameras (and two infrared sensors).

Its built/designed to take bumps and hits. The downward sensors already stop you doing certain maneuverers ie going low under things that people want to do.
