My former neighbour Xavier's cows would gather at the gate shortly beforehand, and start bellowing if he was late

They don’t get milked,  only pregnant cows can be.

That is a project you need to work on.  As an aside the Red Poll breed was brought over to America from the UK in the late 1800s or possibly early1900s and have been keystones of the beef industry here ever since. Growing up on the farm we had a herd of 40-50 cattle most of the time and then had a herd of whitish/gray Brahmas in another pasture.  Quite different breeds and very different in appearance.

I did not know that,  they have that breed in the country park as they are good with the people that walk there.

Yeah, seems over the years there was a lot of import and export going on with many species of animals, particularly dogs, cattle and horses.

Soon that area will be impassable on foot if previous years are to believed,  its at the bottom of a large long hill and will fill up with enough water to get into your walking boots.

There is a Saudi Prince that bought a really large horse farm in central Florida.  He flies his race horses around the world.  You know he has money when he charters a plane just to fly his horse and trainers around.  Seems he has a few that demand a large stud fee.

None here,  at least not forecast for the next 10 days but that can all change.  Definitely cooling down though,   hopefully one last BBQ this week and I can get the covers over it.

Yeah, well, today is a dry day and I'm happy for that, we have 2 workmen working on replacing a toilet downstairs and creating a new one upstairs (there is nothing upstairs now, so we have found a lot of surprises in the hidden parts of the structure )

Thats very brave,   I think I would have had the new one installed and working before touching the one done stairs.

There is no water or sewer upstairs, so we have to do it at once.
It's gonna be a little hassle today and tomorrow.
I hope the one downstairs will be temporary ready so we can use a bucket to flush the toilet.

It already is. We found a mushroom collection inside the toilet sink space.
