Since OA3 supports recording through USB-C without any adapter, any tips which mic to get?

And I wonder if there is possible with stereo recording and not only mono.

Another solution is to get usb-c to mini-jack adapter.

I would imagine any mic would work well.  Rode Wireless or the DJI wireless mic.  I'll be using the Rode Wireless Go II myself.

I'm hoping/banking the old USB C converter for mic and power will work for this.  I'd like to power the camera and plug a mic in at the same time.  It worked great for the original Osmo Action and would be surprised if it doesn't work on the Action 3.

I guess that too. But I should actually wrote that I struggle a bit to find any usb-c mic that doesn't have really long cable.

1 feet (30 cm) would be perfect.

Hello there johansenfoto. Good day and thank you for reaching out. You may used the DJI Mic on the DJI Osmo Action 3 by connecting the receiver of DJI Mic to the DJI Osmo Action 3 USB-C port using a Type-C phone adapter then link the receiver and transmitter of DJI Mic. Thank you.

Thank you, but it costs a little too much for my need. But I did think about that solution

There were a number of threads about this in relation to the Action 2 - might be worth a rummage in that forum.

Here's some possibles - I think it would be 90% likely that whatever works with the Action 2 will work with the Action 3 as their internals appear to be the same -

Thank you so much for the thread and the videos, I will check them out and I have already seen many of your videos from before because you give good tests of gears

I'm glad to have helped!  The Action 2 is meeting my needs very well so I do not plan to purchase the Action 3, but anything on my YouTube channel about the Action 2 will probably apply to the Action 3 also.

Hi, I want to use the DJI Mic with the Osmo Action 3, but to avoid the weight I'd like to put the receiver in my pocket = i need a USB-C cable extension that is recognized by the Osmo Action 3 as a Mic.
All cables I tried are not working, any idea which one i can use? Thank you

Hi there. Thanks for reaching out, and we're sorry to read about the difficulties you encountered. DJI does not have a list of recommended cables, but you can use a standard type-C cable. Ensure you remove the Osmo Action 3 Horizontal-Vertical Protective Frame when connecting Osmo Action 3 to DJI Mic. We hope you can get some recommendations from your co-users here. Thank you, and have a nice day.

I built up a Small Rig with a Small Rig Cage, a Cinematic bar with 1/4" holes,  knurled aluminum handles on each end.  Movo external microphone on one hot show on the bar,  Small Rig light on the other end. Osmo Action camera in the middle.  It worked  fine as pictured and awesome for family video. I'm shooting at 2.7k and the camera overheats so I figured I would go with an external battery.  I bought a usb power splitter.. it appears that the stinking camera switches off the microphone when using an external battery.  Why ?  The camera overheats so most of us want to use an external battery.  Is there a firmware fix for this ?
I have a message for DJI.. since the small camera body can't dissipate the heat properly, please update the firmware to not disable the external microphone while operating on external power!
