St Matthew's Church is the parish church of Hayfield, Derbyshire, England. The church, parts of which date from the 14th century, is a Grade II listed building adjacent to the River Sett. Its five-stage clock tower is the main landmark for the village.

Lovely sharp footage Mr B,  but I hope you popped in and had a word with the vicar,   very poor.  

Remarkable loop Mr. B.    I really like the early English Gothic style of architecture of the church.

Yes it copies the Norman style - which relates to its 14th Century origins. (No spire)

I was wondering about why it didn't have a spire.  So that mystery is solved.  Still a beautifully designed church.  very nice that is has been maintained over all the years.

Grade II listed buildings are subject to regulations which protect their historical and architectural significance. These buildings are of special interest, meaning alterations and building work can't be carried out without written consent from the relevant authorities.
