Does anyone know of a vortex mode for the 4D? Seems it would be idealy suited to doing this.

Hi, as far as I tried: there is no vortex mode. The gimbal can only rotate about 30° each way. So a total of 60°.You can best acchieve vortex mode by going to settings -> Stabilizer -> Joystic Tab -> Top Handle Joystick -> Roll.
This way you can roll the camera with the top handle joystick.

The vortex mode can be seen here. in this video at 1m 50s . There's loads of other examples of this with gimbals and was used in films like Inception.
