I see that the Avata is listed on the FAA DOC website and need some clarification regarding compliance as required by Standard RID. I have heard that neither the motion controller nor FPV Controller 2 have a gps built into them as is the case with most RC's. If this is the case, it is going to require having a mobile device connected to the goggles anytime the drone is flown where RID is required. Is this drone going to be self-grounded without a phone attached to it even when flying indoors, out of the NAS where FAA regulations aren't applicable?

Thank you for your feedback. According to the FAR Part 89 Remote ID regulations, the RID compliance for American users starts on September 16, 2022. Before that, the FAA RID regulation does not affect the user’s flight activity. DJI will conduct an evaluation and prepare appropriate plans for different aircraft after the RID technical standards and MOC recognized by FAA are issued. Thank you for your understanding and support.
