Hi,
I tried to use an external mic of Maono. The mic works pretty well with phone and laptop. I bought a local type C to 3.5mm adapter but that didn't work. When I contacted the support, they said unless you try it with a DJI official adapter they can't be sure of anything. Did someone else face the same issue, how did you overcome that? Please give me a suggestion to use the external microphone.

I found Boya mic have Type C already at the other end. There is no problem of 3.5mm involved. Can I use type C mics?? Will they work?

Had the same problem. First with trrs to usbc adapter, then with usbc mic (some). It looks like it's all about crappy adapters. The one from apple works like a treat. Same with branded microphones. Cheap crap lacks some electronics.

I tried with Samsung adapter. It's working fine. Though I noticed some issues with the audio quality. I need to test a little more. And yes, good adapters with good microphone is better option to avoid all the hassles.

You need to buy an adapter specifically optimize for microphones and not headphones.

Apparently there are adapters made for headphones and adapters made specifically for microphones. You need the microphone in specific one.
