A huge shortcoming of the M2E and M30 RTK capabilities has been the lack of precisce time-stamping (DJI calls this Time Sync https://developer.dji.com/onboar ... uide-time-sync.html) for the RTK position image geolocation. This is important if one wishes to take advantage of the high-precision RTK positioning for photogrammetric mapping/surveying rather than just for navigation of the aircraft.

DJI's stance regarding why Time Sync was not included in the M30/M30T was that "this aircraft is not intended for mapping"

The hype and marketing for the M3E/M3T most definitely highlight mapping ("without the need for GCPs") as one of the applications for which these new aircraft are designed.

So the question is, do the M3E/M3T employ Time Sync or an equivalent that will make their RTK actually useful for mapping, or are they like the M2E & M30?

If you mean replicated exactly in an automated way, I don't think so. Time Sync is more about knowing exactly what you shot than doing it again exactly the same way.

But maybe there's functionality I am unaware of that does what you described.

This is an important distinction, and the reason for my original question. Thank you for bringing it to light. The M2EA, M30, and now the M3T all have RTK but no TimeSync, and thus are not capable of "precision mapping".

Precision Mapping is supported when DJI Mavic 3E is used with RTK Module.
For DJI Mavic 3T, the mapping accuracy is not guaranteed regardless of whether there is an RTK module.

With the M3E mapping mission on a 10hectars area, flight at 75m with a gsd about 1.9cm, i had 3cm XY and 4cm Z of error using the Mavic RTK, on checkpoints. It definitely uses Time Sync

Thank you for the response. In Ag drone mapping (photogrammetric processing) having a highly accurate geo referencing of imagery makes smaller side overlaps possible (more time and data efficient). So the question is how  accurate (RMSE) the 20 MP RGB sensor would be when used in RTK mode with or without time sync capability. Can the lower resolutiuon 5MP multispectral images somehow profit from the presumed accuracy of the 20 MP sensor? Are the 5 images taken at the exact same moment in time or (slightly) sequentiallly? They for sure should at least be quite well geometrically aligned.

The positioning accuracy under RTK mode is cm level while the positioning accuracy in non-RTK mode is m level.

May we confirm you are talking about positioning accuracy as well?
The images are taken nearly at the exact same time. If you would like to align RGB photos and Multispectral Photos, it requires you to set the deviation value.
