Well, for wearing out and maintenance, the manual states that the propeller screws should be tightened after every 30 hours of flight.
Another thing which definitely wears out are the bearings in the motors, but I haven't seen any specifications or speculation for the Mini 3. I've read stories, that for Mavic 2 and that generation, the bearings can last for few thousand flight hours, and might need replacement afterwards.
There are also few other things which might affect the lifetime.
For example, the rubber shock absorbers for the gimbal will definitely wear out with time, and the foam which holds the avoidance cameras might also wear out after some time (and I suspect its wear might trigger vision system recalibrations).
Then, another part which isn't very clear is the airflow through the drone, and the dust accumulation inside. How often would it require cleaning/blowing out?
On the topic of the dust, the camera also isn't completely sealed, and I can already see a speck of dust between the lenses in mine.
Another wear component would be the battery connector inside of the drone. I assume it's gold-plated, and I do hope that the thickness of the plating is good enough to last the lifetime of the drone. The plating is under influence of the fretting corrosion, and will eventually wear out, which will increase the resistance of the contacts and make the fretting even worse, and the spare part (if it's the core board) doesn't seem to be cheap, so I do hope that the plating is good enough to last for a while. |
