Now that the Mavic 3 Enterprise was released with a mechanical shutter should we all hold out hope that the rumored Mavic 3 Classic and future Mavic 4 wll have a mechanical shutter?

Sure, we can hold out hope, but I also would not see the point.  Let's say they give those other drones a mechanical shutter.  They still will not reportedly be getting an SDK as these seem to be reserved now for Enterprise labeled drones only.

If the above statement holds true, then no net benefit for a mechanical shutter for mapping purposes.

The mechanical shutter would still provide a benefit for regular photography.  Especially in fast action scenerios such as an auto races.

It would be most unlikely that DJI would use a more expensive, more complicated mechanical shutter in drones not made specifically to be suitable for mapping.
Hope all you like, but it's unlikely to happen.

Hello there DemolitionMan14. Good day and thank you for reaching out. As of the moment, we do not have any information with the DJI Mavic 3 future update and with regard to this matter. Kindly please stay tuned to the latest DJI updates by visiting our official DJI official website at www.dji.com . Thank you.

Mechanical shutter for digital photography just means one thing, much less noise, and therefore, greater image quality.

If it comes to the so called prosumer level drones it will be a great adition.

It's good news there is a version of the mavic 3 with a mechanical shutter, which would be a great platform for mapping, and with RTK - so guess effectively a replacement for the Phantom 4 RTK platform.  However it's so disappointing that DJI are not still providing the SDK for the current mavic 3/mavic 3 cine drones. Previously they supported their consumer or "prosumer" drones such as the Phantom 4 Pro, Mavic Pro 2 etc so you could use for mapping and other uses such as waypoint flights with Litchi. Let's hope they go back on their statement earlier this year that the SDK would be made available for the mavic 3 and mini 3 pro (which was due end of August)...

That was a bold move by DJI to include mechanical shutter on Mavic 3 Enterprise, as imho that was the only feature that was holding Phantom 4 Pro (v2) afloat, but now we have a folding drone in a small form factor with a mechanical shutter and even potentially cheaper than Phantom 4 Pro v2 (~$3k for M3E). Not sure if there are any advantages of owning Phantom 4 vs Mavic 3E line granted SDK is getting released for Mavic 3E. Hoping that Mavic 3 will get SDK as well soon.

Be nice but highly unlikely.

Hey, do you know to set the Mechanical shutter ON?
I tried this:
KeyManager.getInstance().setValue(
            KeyTools.createCameraKey(
                CameraKey.KeyMechanicalShutterEnable, ComponentIndexType.LEFT_OR_MAIN, CameraLensType.CAMERA_LENS_DEFAULT), true,
                object : CommonCallbacks.CompletionCallback {
                override fun onSuccess(){
                    Log.i("Success", "")
                    }
                override fun onFailure(error: IDJIError) {

                }
                })
but got an error:
Unresolved reference: KeyMechanicalShutterEnable
