Osmo Action 3 have stronger magnet than Action 2, only difference I know about

Yes the Action 2 magnetic mount is the smooth one.

The one you have for your OA3 is supposedly “revised and updated”.  But apparently more revisions and updating is needed to make it not wiggle and rattle.  DJI Support needs to address this for all consumers buying this device.  Maybe like when they added the Action 2 plastic housing for free to all owners - so as to minimize burns off the very hot to the touch aluminum case.

Apparently as well the OA3 mount supposedly has an additional catch - so does not fall off as easily as the previous iteration if one lever is accidentally pushed in.  The material may have changed as well.

Hi there. Thank you for your feedback. Osmo Action 3 is designed to be used in many different scenarios. When filming footage in high-intensity scenarios such as cycling or roller skating, the quick-release adapter mount may rub against the camera bottom, and thereby noises may occur when the microphone located at the camera bottom is picking up sounds. To avoid this, we added soft material to the center where the adapter mount contacts the camera, which is a good way to avoid noises when using the device in sports scenes, while also protecting the bottom case of the camera. Additionally, a positioning clip is added at the snap position of the quick-release adapter to make the connection more secure and prevent the camera from detaching. It is possible that noises may occur or the camera may be detached when using Osmo Action 3 with DJI Action 2 Magnetic Adapter Mount in high-intensity sports scenarios.  DJI Action 2 cannot be fit into Osmo Action 3 Quick-Release Adapter Mount, as an additional positioning clip is added to the adapter mount. So certain forum users in other threads have shown in videos posted that the OA3 mount still makes rattling noises even after adding the positioning clip and soft material.  This is using the OA3 revised clip - not with the old Action 2 clip.  Does DJI Support have any desire to redesign this clip further to eliminate this problem?
