I've being using my 4d for months now, mostly manual focus.

A quick query - I've not really been calibrating the Sony lenses as i change them. But they still seem to work okay.

Is the auto calibration for auto focus or for the lidar to work even in manual mode?

Hello, there. Thanks for your inquiry. You can normally use Auto Calibration under manual mode. Please make sure the firmware of the E-mount adapter is updated to the latest version and then choose NA when mounting the E-mount lens.
