This might be covered already but i didnt see it in my search. Not specifically.

But how exactly is the Air 2S and similar models altitude calculated. I understand the VPS and IMU basically. IMU is a combination of sensors. VPS having a optimum range of .5 - 30M ( 1.6 - 98ft ).

I assume, as each sensor is giving data the processor or IMU chooses which one it considers valid?

So if the IMU shows 50ft but VPS shows 40ft it will switch or use the VPS due it being in its optimum range?

Once out of VPS optimum range it will switch to IMU?

If so then at 98ft it switches to IMU only or will it do a average when its on the bordeline?

Its very important to know this when dealing with even the Mini1. To me even the cost of it alone is reason enough to fully understand as a pilot!
