Taking a break.......

As the end of the summer comes to a close,  theres still some opportunituy for the kids to learn to sail or at least take a break on the marshes.

Great observation David. Earlier this summer, I noticed that kids' canoeing experience trips were being run on the shore of Coombs reservoir near here.
But since the waters have receded with the drought, the spot where they used to practice is now high and dry.

Amazing top down shot DA.    You got to love the bright colors of those boats.  Does appear a few of the sailors are resting.

Have you noticed that the reservoirs are not filling up yet?  Or maybe that’s just here.

Have you noticed that the reservoirs are not filling up yet?  Or maybe that’s just here.

I haven't toured the reservoirs recently, but they must be slowly refilling by now.

You won’t see it in the pic. But there are signs up saying keep off as it’s protected for wild life.

Sounds as if you have a project in mind for the laser cutter.

I’ve finally figured out a way to engrave and cut on the same piece accurately.  Previous the engraving part didn’t align properly.

I’m hoping pocket 3 is released next month though.

I'm not sure it would whet my appetite. I'm a little underwhelmed with the Pocket2 if I'm honest. But that might be to do with my inability to hold the thing still.  And the viewing screen is so small it makes operation fiddly.

I may suffer the same, the new iPhone I have has much improved OIS.  But for the pocket 50% if my use will be Timelapse stuff.

Timelapse is where the Pocket does score, when mounted on a tripod ( a proper one, not the flimsy thing it comes suppiled with) .
It has irritations though. Unless you attach your phone to it physically, you need an add-on unit to pair it by wifi, which fixes to the bottom of the camera, thereby obscuring the tripod attachment - so the two are mutually exclusive.  In HDR mode, the zoom feature is disabled. And the joystick can only either control the gimbal movement, or the zoom - not both at once. Another irritation. The list goes on.
