"The US defence department on Wednesday added Shenzhen-based DJI Technology Co, the world’s largest maker of consumer drones, to a list of Chinese companies that it deems to be connected to Beijing’s military, along with a dozen other hi-tech firms."

The Parrot Anafi is the alternative when doing mapping, for all those who need to map with Pix4D.

Please keep the updates and support for those that still have DJI in the US.

This announcement by the Pentagon was required by law as a follow up to last year's listing.

"The move – which clears the way for the US Commerce Department to enact restrictions on US business transactions with the companies, including investments – follows the publication of an initial blacklist last year. The list was required by last year’s National Defence Authorisation Act (NDAA), annual must-pass legislation that guides funding for the US military."

It was recent, just this Wednesday.

I think the US Government is worried it can easily give precise real-time targetting coordinates on any area of the world for things such as their nuclear orbiting hyperglider. There could be some super top secret developed app that unlocks the drones full secret-level capabilities making it turn into a really good targeting director. Under the WW3 game, strategically, the more opposing stuff that gets shutdown the better for that team. Unfortunately, for commercial drone pilots trying to complete civilian level infrastructure projects already up in the air, hopefully the drones just don't crash out of the sky or gets hijacked. At least DJI should keep that honor and loyalty to it's customers if/when WW3 does happen. No doubt they can probably easily do everything said here.

I mean, if it were to have to happen.. at least don't take my drone?

I wonder how much battery life and CPU power would go up if security was never an issue. If no one ever hacked or created a destroying virus. The computers constantly scan for threats all the time. Sure, better batteries and computing go up every next gen but imagine if security was never and issue so no scanning could happen, imagine how much battery and computing efficiency would go up.
