For the last 24 hours, I've been unable to fly the M30T that I'm issued for work. I't showing an avionics warning "Flight control system error (0x1610009F). Restart aircraft".
Obviously I've restarted the aircraft and numerous other things to no avail. There was no obvious (to me) event that caused this error to start, so I'll go through the past few days to maybe give someone an idea of what happened.


Thursday 10/6/2022, early AM; went out to do my required weekly training flights. In between battery changes, I updated the M30T and the RC Plus to the latest firmware. Once finished, I flew one more battery and packed up.

Friday 10/7/2022, evening; made a couple of short (10-12 minute flights) packed up.

Saturday, 10/8/2022, early AM; Made a few more flights, just playing around basically and everything seemed fine. Then, I updated the firmware on all batteries (5 sets, so 10). Around noon, after the batteries were updated and recharged, I went to fly again and get the warning; Flight control system error (0x1610009F). Restart aircraft.

  • I restarted the aircraft, several times, controller too. No change.
  • I restarted the Aircraft with each different set of batteries. No change
  • I refreshed the firmware update on the RC and aircraft. No change
  • I rolled the firmware back on both. No change
  • I reinstalled the new firmware. No change
  • I don't see a way to roll back, or refresh the battery firmware but I also don't see how that would cause this error.

Update 10 Oct 2022; I contacted DJI customer service by phone and was given a username/password to log into my DJI Assistant 2 (Enterprise Series) app with and told to download Matrice 30 firmware version B90.05.02.04. That software is not offered under my login credentials, or theirs, so I don't know why he even told me to do this (Screenshots below)

I still need help with this issue if anyone wants to take a shot in the dark, I'll try whatever is within my level of maintenance.

Did it happen shortly after you updated the battery software? The more I think about it, the more I think that played a part, I'm no engineer though.

1. We would like to confirm if you have used Assistant 2 to upgrade before.
2. Can you provide us with the following information so that we confirm as soon as possible?

As can be seen, this issue is COMMON!

Can please the DJI support post the COMMON solution to the problem?

Should we try downgrading the "BS" SW?

Official download posted by DJI for Matrice-30 is of Version 04.02.01.03 from 2022-07-14:  "Matrice 30 Series BS DJI Pilot Offline Firmware Update V04.02.01.03"

When connected to RC, the BS has automatically updated at some point to ver. 05.02.12.31. Battery SW: 02.00.20.37.

True. Just recently DJI posted a series of new updates publically [https://www.dji.com/matrice-30/downloads]   
While update of RC SW from V01.02.02.40 to previously issued V01.02.02.50  failed with error `-4100`-"Update failed. Check and try again", the update to V01.02.03.38 went fine.

The update of BS SW from already installed (automatically) V05.02.12.31 to newly posted V04.03.01.47 (recall, previoisly this month the only V04.02.01.03 was oficially offered) logically still couldn't take place automatcally, although the FW for batteries got updated from V02.00.20.37 to V02.00.20.41.
However, none of those updates could have fixed the main issue that was making UAV DJI Matrice M30 rejected to take off with never explained the blocking "Flight control system error (0x1610009F). Restart aircraft" complain in HMS, etc.

Only just the recenlty posted update for UAV itself: "Matrice 30 Series UAV DJI Pilot Offline Firmware Update V05.01.00.00" from V04.03.00.00 (which in turn didn't introduce any recover when updated to it from V04.02.00.00 previously) was able to do the trick finally. The misterious blocking "Flight control system error (0x1610009F)" got eventually cleaned out.

Hi, I have the same problem, I updated today to the last firmware, still got same error. DJI Assistant options it’s a refresh, I don’t see any firmware downgrade How can fix? Thanks
