Choppy footage is explainable.
There is not much a camera can do about that.
It is up to the operator to control the parameters that affect 'judder' (that is the technical term for this choppiness)
It comes down to the speed of movement and the shutterspeed.
If both are too high, you are likely to get judder.
Also, the wider the lens, the more risk of judder (as there is more subject in the frame that can be victim of judder).
The problem arises when the 'change' between 2 frames is too big AND constant and your brain converts this into 'not smooth'.
You can trick your brain into believing it is smooth by either :
- lower the shutterspeed to double the framerate. (you will most likely need ND filters)
But even then, there is a great risk of judder with faster movement.
So slowing things down will help too. (but that is not what you want with an action type camera most of the time).
Anyhow, go on YT and look for stutter, judder, choppy + drone video's .
There are a ton of videos about it. |
