Dang, that's not a bad price at all, especially considering the cost of fuel.  Good news is I bet they know where to go to have the best shot at catching fish also.

The ones I've learned to avoid in my area are: moray eels, pufferfish (sometimes called a blowfish), Atlantic torpedo ray, tiger shark, and red lionfish,  I avoid them at all costs.

Cute but very dangerous as they secrete lethal toxins via their spikes.  Even the smallest ones can secrete enough toxin to kill an adult.

To be honest there are more dangers on land than in the water.  Diving just requires you to plan, prepare and be safe.  Now cave diving presents a whole new set of issues that you could face but open ocean dives are relatively safe.  (Except for rebellious teens and spear guns that they have no idea how to use.)  More people get killed on the road due to auto accidents than diving accidents.  Anyway, for me it is an outlet to get away from it all and be at peace.
