Bread is whats common here too, although we dont call it that. Is the foam concrete much more expensive then bread?
It's about the same. At least it was 3 years ago. I have not looked into the details since then.
The main bonus is that you can just pour it in (after some preparation of course, but you need to do that anyway) and don't worry about the house not being square etc.
Plus it eliminates the risk of any leaks, since it is applied in a liquid state.
The big downside is that you don't have a space under your floor anymore, so you need to plan ahead of everything you 'might want' to do in the future.
Now we don't have a lot of stuff going on in that space, but there are some water connections, gas and electricity of course (no sewer here fortunately). And I will add some empty tubes to various parts, so I can add stuff later.
We have an 'old part' and 'new part', almost the same size.
The new part is already insulated and has a good sized space under the floor, so I will connect that to our small cellar (which is in the old part), where the fuse box is located too and the gas+water.connections are.
