Hi DJI,

The clips on my DJI Mini 3 Plus battery have cracked,   the serial number is 5LRPK5MCA0045J and its only got 48 charges on it,   can you confirm if the battery is still in warrenty and how I can open a case for it.

Yikes, those photos definitely point out a weak stress point.  Hopefully, DJI will replace this as a warranty issue.  

Good luck, few people have had this already, there is a threading going already. Maybe post on that.

They refused warranty on mine initially but replaced after some back and forth.

Was yours the plus battery too?

Is there an expected life cycle of the battery based on number of charges before we should replace it?

No, just the standard type.

Seeing has damage is in exactly the same place, the more and more this happens to people, then DJI have to address this, especially when it comes to warranty coverage.

The warranty is 6 months or 200 charges.  

That does not look too good.

I am not sure how this will work being the plus battery and the UK, just hope they ship it back here.
I couldn't even get a friend in the US to buy one for me and DJI send it to my address

I raised the case Bashy and provided the battery serial number and they have created a UPS shipping label for me,  I have emailed her back as the label says drone and not battery.  Also for confirmation it is covered.

It appears the standard battery has more plastic in that area than the plus battery.

I could only guess. In the mean time I’ve printed all the docs and packaged up the box.  I will drop off tomorrow.

You may be lucky and the place you have to send it to might just not be compus mentus lol

I do foresee a wee issue though, if it has to go to the Netherlands, they won't have any plus batteries, they may return it as it is, still feckered or send a standard one. Or, there is a wee chance they may order one from China

Did they give a reason because they have tried the "not covered" with the standard battery too, the members have had to fight for cover and finally got it, or is its as we suspected?

basically.  It's was non eu product,  no warrenty. and it appeared in the terms that they would charge the shipping to return it.

Damn, we knew there would be a risk but the return, is poor to say the least, considering they knew prior and didn't tell you during the initial request

It looks like this issue is inevitable and will happen to most people down the line.

It seems its more likely on the plus battery as the tabs are thinner,  my normal batteries are over 100 charge circles and are fine,  this one was just at 48.

Thats why I asked here,   double checked with Claire when she emailed me,   and still it failed,   I may look for a faulty normal battery and translate it when the clips eventually give up.

As long as DJI treat the battery issue like this - I would suggest taking up the warranty issues with the retailer.

I think it is very poor of DJI to do this with the battery, there several examples of this where the battery clip has broken in exactly the same place, which points to a manufacturing issue rather than a user caused issue.
