Today encountered very interesting message




And the drone switched to S mode automatically. It was about 1700m above sea level (I've checked via GPS Info on a phone), is it a sort of limit? How YouTubers made those awesome mountain videos? Motion Controller?

What altitude and distance limits did you set ?
It may reverse to S or N mode when reaching a limit.
I flew higher than 1700m

It's only 200m high and 500m far from me, limits are set to 2km distance and 500m height

Are you using Manual Mode for the first time on the Avata ?

According the manual page 19

“ When using Manual mode for the first time, the maximum attitude of the aircraft will be limited. After you are familiar with flying in Manual mode, the attitude restriction can be disabled in the goggles. Go to Settings > Control > Remote Controller > Gain & Expo > M Mode Attitude Limit.”

That msg means there is interferance .. do you fix any camera above the avata or GPS Logger ?
or the place you fly in has interferance
so it switch to sport mode automatically

No it's only avata. And air 2s flies there perfectly at that location

Air 2s flies there perfectly. And this message appeared only there. But I didn't visited places higher than that so idk of it's connected to an air density in mountains. In lower lands everything is ok so far

Thank you for keeping us posted. Can you please confirm if this location is an Altitude zone or a restricted zone? Flying the DJI avata in an altitude zone will limit the Manual mode. Please keep us posted. Thank you.

Hi I am having the same error with Avata.
When trying to switch into manual mode, “UAV too high/far” error pops up, M mode is not being enabled.
It happens on any distance, including when I hover in a couple of meters far and high from takeoff point.
It used to successfully switch in manual mode in September, but then at some point it stopped switching into M mode.

I tried the following and it did't fix the M mode problem.
1. Remote controller sticks calibration
2. Linking different RC, with calibration
3. Enabling and disabling M mode attitude limit
4. Flying within and outside Flysafe warning zones, including totally free-of-any-restrictions zones.
5. Different aircraft firmwares, including oldest and the newest.
6. Different goggles (2 and V2)
7. Trying going into manual mode closer and further away from takeoff point
8. Playing with Altitude and Distance limits, changing them within all possible ranges.

Height and distance OSD readings are accurate and change accordingly to the flight path of the aircraft

I am flying DJI Avata for Middle Tennessee State University, which is an approved member of QEP program, so I even have Geozone unlocking for this aircraft.
I have tried M mode before and after unlocking.

Please help me making M mode back to work!

what a feature.....
if you are clear to fly, you should be clear to fly how you want!
n, s or M mode, should not make any difference.....

dji should let the user and owner of the drone make the choise how to fly.
