Is there a way I can get my own flight data and review it or is that something that only DJI can get? If I can get it, can someone please explain the steps needed to get it and see it on my Windows 11 PC?

Hi, FPVTrendz. Thank you for reaching out. You may use the DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drones Series) to export aircraft flight control data. Kindly follow the steps below:

1)       Connect the DJI Avata drone to the PC, launch DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drones Series) that can be downloaded under “Download” of the DJI Avata product page in the official website.

Download link: https://www.dji.com/downloads/products/avata

2)       Click “DJI Avata”, choose "Log Export", and then click "Save to local". Select the saved path and wait until download complete.

3) After downloading, click “Open in the folder”, and the aircraft flight control data can be found in the folder “EXPORT_FILE_xxx”. Note that there is no need to modify the folder name.

Thank you for your valued support.

Those are .DAT files. How do I open them? Also, I was looking for the data that shows the stick position upon a crash.

Hi there. Yes, those are the correct files. Our relevant team uses .DAT files for data analysis if the flight records were not synced. Unfortunately, training is needed to understand those. If your unit is still under warranty, you may send it to our facility for them to analyze the data for you. You can contact our support team to start up a ticket at https://www.dji.com/support. Thank you for your kind understanding and support.

You can try airdata software. Have a look at

Hey, thanks for that. I did try it and it will not open the .dat file for the Avata. It's not supported as of yet.

You will NOT be able to open .DAT files on any platform. AirData will show you stick positions if you have a subscription. I've been with them for years and it is invaluable.

The .DAT log file on the Avata or FPV is encrypted and only DJI can read them. However, there are .DAT log files on the goggles that can be read and analyzed. Retrieving a goggles .DAT log file is a little tricky. Look here
https://fpvdronepilots.com/threads/dat-available.4225/#post-35016
to see how to retrieve them.

Once retrieved these .DAT can be read and analyzed with CsvView or DatCon that can be found here
https://datfile.net/CsvView/downloads.html
