Not a bad guess, but much too far east. It's between Angers and Nantes, on the south bank of the Loire.
Here's a last clue ( I'm getting no further on your one, by the way )
If you get the right one, you can actually spot all these clues on Google Streetview

Very interesting location that you are in.  I was just searching through my ancestry tree and see that a way, way distant ancestor, Theobald I, (Count of Blois and sometimes called the Trickster) lived in the Chateau of Blois located somewhere in the Loire Valley.  I don't have much more history on him so not quite sure why he was called the Trickster.

That's about 240Kms east of here. I've not been in that one. A little further east again is the Chateau de Chambord, which we have visited.

That's the advantage of being in an "older" country.  Lots of historical sites and buildings.  

Sounds like the weather is treating you right and you're having an enjoyable trip.

We've been really lucky so far, weatherwise.  The heavens opened for 15 minutes just before we set off, and it rained en route. But by the time we'd had lunch the sun was out again.
Here's a pic. Even you should be able to figure out where we were, with the smallest help from Mr.Goggle

You could spend weeks exploring the chateaux along the loire. Angers, Amboise, Tours,  Saumur, Chinon.
The list goes on. And a wine for each location

After doing a bit of research on the internet yesterday I was really amazed at how much heritage and how many things there are to see in that part of France.  So much interesting history in the Loire Valley.

I definitely need to put together an itinerary for a trip the future.

Got next summer's itinerary full but already looking at summer 2024 so this is at the top of my list for that summer.  I'm thinking Spain, France & Germany for 2024.  Of course that might be asking too much as I'd like to keep it to 4-5 weeks total.

After doing some map and internet search I believe 5 weeks is way too ambitious.  I need to probably focus on one country or cut way back on locations in each.  Oh well, I have plenty of time to plan.
