I've been wondering what tripods/mounts/handles would be the best for use with the Pocket 2 and the waterproof case when filming underwater. I do have a couple of thought for them:
- One pretty obvious one is the requirement of being waterproof - nothing rusting etc.
- Needs to have a two-prong GoPro mount so I can attach the Waterproof case on it.
- For the handle, having the option of it floating could be handy, while for the tripod, I wish it would sink to the bottom of the pool/lake beach area.
- Having the option to attach it to the pool ladder/possibly some underwater rock while in a lake would be handy.
- I'm planning on filming only in swimming pools and lakes, no need to film in an ocean so no fear of saltwater damage.
- While mostly thinking about using underwater, I don't mind at all if I can use it on the dry land too!

Any good suggestions are welcome and much appreciated!

Thank you for your reply and recognition of this topic.

Concerning the topic, I would like to ask for a clarification for one of my earlier posts regarding the topic.

I posted earlier a thread at https://forum.dji.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=252140 where I was asking if the DJI Action 2 Floating Handle could also be used with the water-proof case of the Pocket 2. By then, you replied that it only works with the DJI Osmo Action and DJI Action 2. I have also noticed you have updated the compatibility information so that it also mentions the Osmo Action 3.

I do appreciate that you were open to say about the non-compatibility of the handle, even when it meant a small financial loss to you due to me not buying the handle. But I would like to ask about what exactly makes the handle incompatible with the Pocket 2 water-proof case? Is it the weight of the combination, causing it to sink instead of floating? Or is the action camera mount shape not compatible with the case? Or is there some completely other reason for that?

Thanks in advance for your reply!

Update on my mount search. Found a couple that fits for me - The GoPro floating handle (https://gopro.com/en/us/shop/mou ... dler/AFHGM-003.html) and the GoPro 3-Way Mount (https://www.amazon.com/GoPro-3-W ... Mount/dp/B00KCX8H6E). I had a chance to get the first one with five euros (against the DJI's floating handle for 35€) and the second one with half the price off (probably because there has been released a updated version) from my local electronics shop. The 3-way sinks to the bottom of the pool, and while not the most stable stand ever, stays up well enough for pool filming. Also, has a hollow handle, so I could make it more stable by putting some kind of appropriately-shaped weight inside it.

Now please, just don't burn me on a stake for being a heretic and buying competitor's products

Another update to this.

In the long run, wasn't happy with the tripod, at least as it is now. The currents in the pool made it move way too easily. Maybe if I had put something inside the handle it could work.

But found another solution. The GoPro Jaws and Gooseneck seem to be a perfect fit for the job in my high-rise's swimming pool at least, got a tight and steady grip from the pool ladder yet was quick and easy to attach and detach. And even better: while it is pretty expensive as new (about 60-65 euros here), I found an used one, practically good-as-new one, for only 25 euros on an online flea market site. So if you need something for a similar scenario and can find it cheap, that is a good option.
